When you become part of our Legacy Society:

By becoming a member of SPARCC Legacy Society, your planned gift allows us to look forward with confidence and ensure a future stream of support.

You are the catalyst to stop domestic and sexual violence in our communities for generations to come. You help sustain SPARCC, its programs and its services. We can’t do it without you.

What began as a small group of strong and compassionate women, with a desire to help survivors, has grown into the only state-certified center for domestic and sexual violence in Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. Your support has strengthened SPARCC every step of the way.

It has been 40 years since the humble beginnings of SPARCC and despite its tremendous growth, there is still more to do — lives to save, young people to educate and social reforms to be made. You uphold our mission. You make us strong.

Domestic violence and sexual assault are social problems that happen in every community and change must begin with each of us. SPARCC is a leader in the movement against domestic and sexual violence. You help protect the future. Graphic showing domestic violence statistics

Your planned gift ensures a future stream of support and enables SPARCC to continue its efforts to stop domestic and sexual violence in our communities.

Ways to Make a Planned Gift:

  • Beneficiary in a Living Trust
  • Beneficiary in a Life Insurance
  • Policy Beneficiary in a Will

*Or make an immediate charitable contribution of $10,000 (or more) designated to the SPARCC Endowment Fund.

You empower SPARCC with the authority to create positive change and continue moving toward a violence-free future.

As a SPARCC Legacy member, we consider you part of our family. You support our mission to stop domestic and sexual violence in our community. You believe in our vision.

SPARCC would like to thank you for your commitment by recognizing you with these small and humble acts of kindness:

  • Recognition on the SPARCC Legacy Tribute Wall*
  • Specially designed Legacy Pin
  • Recognition in our Annual Newsletter*

Bequests & Planned Giving

Including Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC) in your will or estate plans is one of the most meaningful ways to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Planned gifts can be made through your estate or financial plans and can include bequests designated in a will or living trust, as well as life income gifts. By supporting the future of SPARCC in this way, you are ensuring that we will be here for survivors and their children in perpetuity.

Your will affirms, honors, and protects what matters most to you. Through a specific bequest, you can name a particular dollar amount, or through a residuary bequest, you can give all or part of what is remaining after payment of debts, expenses, and specific bequests. If you would like to make such a gift to SPARCC, your attorney may wish to include language similar to the following:

“I give, devise, and bequeath to Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center, Inc., now or formerly with corporate headquarters at 2139 Main Street, Sarasota, FL 34237, (Tax ID: 59-1943399) a gift of ($_____ or __ percent of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate), to be used for its general purposes.”

Legal Name: Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center, Inc. DBA SPARCC

Address: 2139 Main Street, Sarasota, FL, USA 34237

Employer Identification Number: (EIN/Tax ID): 59-1943399

You might also consider naming SPARCC as a beneficiary in your retirement plan, IRA, insurance policy, or bank and investment accounts. Depending on the plan, SPARCC can be named as a full, partial, or contingent beneficiary.

There are other planned giving options that can provide you with payments for the rest of your life, with the remaining funds passing to SPARCC. These gift options include charitable gift annuities (CGA) and charitable remainder trusts. To learn more about how these options can benefit you, please contact our office at 941-365-0208 x106 or email mmancini@sparcc.net

SPARCC is pleased to recognize the supporters and visionaries who are helping to ensure that SPARCC is here in perpetuity and able to provide help, hope and healing for survivors and their children. After informing us of your plans, we will extend an invitation to join our Legacy Society.
