At SPARCC, we firmly believe that it takes an entire community to create lasting change. We extend an open invitation to individuals from all walks of life, with diverse backgrounds and skills, to join us in enriching our programs. As a volunteer at SPARCC, you’re not just offering your time, you’re becoming an advocate for social change. You’ll play a vital role in our mission, contributing to community education, providing essential outreach support, offering crucial crisis intervention and even assisting in fundraising efforts.
Join us, and together, let’s be the change our community needs.
All direct-service volunteers for SPARCC are required to complete 60 hours of training in domestic violence and sexual assault. The domestic violence training consists of 24 hours (3 days) of in-person training and 6 hours of on the job training. The 3-day training course is facilitated 3-4 times per year. The sexual violence training is a self-paced training that is done on the computer with an additional 2-hour hotline role-play session.
Requires extended training
A part of our direct services, on-call teams respond to night and weekend requests from area hospitals to meet with sexual and domestic violence survivors at the hospital to provide information and support regarding SPARCC services.
